A Tale of Two “Christians”

Tim Tebow and Colin Kaepernick are a perfect example of two kinds of Christianity. Both claim to be Christian. Both are known for taking a knee on the football field, but for very different reasons.

Tim Tebow, a born-again Christian was home schooled and spent his summers in the Philippines, helping with his father’s orphanage and missionary work. He is pro-life and preaches living a godly life. He takes a knee before a game in prayer to our Heavenly Father. His Christianity is all about a relationship with Jesus Christ. His personal life is clean and his speech reflects it.

Colin Kaepernick, a pro-Castro supporter, takes a knee, not to pray, but to protest standing for the national anthem. Kaepernick was raised in mainline denominations and does not testify to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Instead he believes Christianity is all about political and social activism, such as helping Planned Parenthood’s murderous holocaust of baby killings. His personal speech is filthy. His Twitter account spews forth racist accusations, racial division, and expletives that cannot be repeated.

Fake Christianity

Kaepernick is an example of fake Christianity. It’s all about him and what he can do to make himself out to be a good guy. That’s why he takes a knee at the games – to try to prove that he is more righteous and caring than others. It’s about him showing off. Jesus gave us the example of fake Christianity in the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector:

“Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people …I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’  I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 18:9-14)

Kaepernick wants people to think that he is so compassionate and caring that he risks disapproval by pretending to be shaming America for its police brutality and racism. But the fact is, besides being a farce and a narcissistic show, his disrespectful antics are quite ridiculous, for they are based on the false Obama-driven narrative of Ferguson, all started by a dangerous out-of-control criminal thug who needed to be shot.

Kaepernick has been duped, as has the entire left and many main line Christian denominations. They have been fooled into thinking that real Christianity is about implementing social justice. It’s not. Real Biblical Christianity is about a relationship with God through an encounter with Jesus Christ and being empowered by the Holy Spirit to change from the inside out by the power of God. Only when people are changed on the inside can true peace and justice come to the world.

Fake Christianity is the exact reverse. Its modus operandi is to leave the inside of man filthy while trying to enact goodness in man’s environment. Jesus spoke of this also:

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:25-28)

Communism

Fake Christianity is all about doing good works out of both guilt and pride, rather than from a pure heart. With a conscience unclean and an unregenerate soul they assuage their conscience by rushing headlong into social change agendas without any idea what they are getting themselves involved in.

The works that Kaepernick and the left-wing radicals are doing are anything but true good works. They don’t realize that social change, social injustice, income inequality, global warming, climate change, police brutality, civil rights, and even Obama’s hope and change, are all just buzz-words that Marxist communists throw around to try to develop social unrest and fear so that out of the chaos they can take more government control and more of our tax money to do with as they please.

This is how communism gets started in a country, with ignorant brainwashed people duped into thinking they are do-gooder heroes changing their country for the better, when in fact they are destroying it. They don’t realize until it’s too late, not until their freedoms are gone and the tyrants have wrested control from the people, only then do they realize that they were used as fools in the hands of the clever and devious. The German people welcomed the socialism that Hitler brought to Germany, but look what it led to. In every country where socialism flourishes, the people suffer and die. Socialism is the antithesis of all that America stands for.

Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the national anthem is especially grievous to those who truly love America. The Star Spangled Banner became very popular during the Civil War and became the unofficial national anthem of the military. In 1916 the president declared it to be our official national anthem. The song reminisces the sacrifices made by those who have gone before us and have given the ultimate “last full measure of devotion” in shedding their blood for the freedom of their countrymen. At West Point in 1891, the practice of standing out of respect for the song became a tradition.

To disrespect the song is to show contempt for all the good that our nation has done and to show sacrilegious disregard for the moral and godly principles that engendered men to give their lives for their brothers. Kaepernick’s shameful disregard for the long standing tradition of patriotic Americans is nothing more than an exhibition of ultimate depravity.

He is not a man, but a child. He wants to decry the actions of the police. Well, he needs to learn some things before he lectures others. He needs to hear this police officer lecture given long ago. He, along with all the other malcontent leftist snow flakes, need to be forced to sit and listen to the wisdom in the following video:
