Islam vs Christianity

Islam & Christianity: Do They Worship The Same God?

One would think this would be a no-brainer. Islam is a non-Christian pagan religion that worships “Allah”. Surely they don’t worship the same God as Christians, do they?  At one time, all Christian churches would have stoutly defended the faith and declared, as would most anyone in America, that the God of Islam is not the God of Christians. But times have changed. We live in a day of political correctness. Now we see PBS broadcasts presenting Islam in a favorable light along with books which proclaim that Islamic faith is not that different from the Christian faith. In spite of 911, we are being told that Islam is the “Religion of Peace.” According to a recent PBS show, the Jewish and Christian patriarch Abraham was also a good Muslim! A recent book, Three Faiths, One God tells us “Symbolically, the first historical Muslim was Abraham…”[1]

Mainline denominations are weighing in on the matter as well. The Lutheran, a publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has numerous articles favorable to Islam, which go so far as to tell us that Muslims should not be preached at, but rather we should learn from them and work together with them in the furtherance of the gospel.

In the September 2002 issue of The Lutheran, Sarah Mitchell has written an article which speaks highly of her experience living in a Muslim country and how the mandatory daily prayer of Muslims convicted her concerning her weak prayer life. She first complains that the Muslims pray “by rote”, practice “obsessive” washings, segregate women, and that they offer prayers for the success of terrorists. But then she brushes all this aside with,

“Once I overcame the rebellious emotions I had regarding Islamic rules, I wanted in on that immeasurable benefit the majority of those around me were experiencing from their constant prayer…I thank God for the influence Islam has had on my life.”

One hast to wonder why a reaction against sympathy with terrorists, the subjugation of women, and compulsory obsessive rituals must be branded as “rebellious emotions.” But I digress.

In the January 2002 issue of The Lutheran Amber Leberman instructs us that Allah is the God of Christians and that Muhammad was a really a swell guy, being a prophet just like Moses or Isaiah. I quote:

Muhammad was 40 when he had his first revelation. His concern was to do away with idolatry and restore the worship of the one and only God, which he came to believe went back to the time of Abraham. Abraham became the archetype of faith for Muslims. As Islam grew, it became a challenge to the status quo. Merchants were raking in money off the sale of idols. Persecution began to set in; the merchants didn’t like Muhammad at all. In 622 he and his followers emigrated from Mecca to Medina…Many of us hold that Muhammad was a prophet in the same vein as the Old Testament prophets…Who is Allah?  “Allah” is the Arabic term for God. Muslims don’t want to worship any other god than the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…Is Islam a militant religion, or is it a peaceful one with a limited number of extremists? Have there been times of violence and war? Sure…there were stages of fighting the enemy, just as in the Old Testament there were occasions of fighting. But I wouldn’t call that militant. If you’re thinking about “militant” as “fanatic” or “extremist,” no, overall it’s a peaceful religion. Not unlike Christianity, which I hope would be a religion of peace. At other times, the Christian community could be rather militant…Instead of preaching at Muslims…we should work closely with them. We are all in this struggle together.

Is all this true?  Was Muhammad a good man? A prophet? Did he encourage everyone to forsake idols and worship the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?  Is the Muslim’s God also the Christian’s God? Should we not present the gospel to them and assume they already have the truth? Should we work closely with them as fellow “Christians”?

The answer is no. Flat out, emphatically no way! Muhammad was a deranged demon possessed murdering maniac; a pedophile, guilty of incest and rape. He was a sadistic madman on a genocidal rampage to conquer and pirate as much of the worlds goods for himself as he could obtain.  Allah was a pagan idol, the moon god of the ancient Arabs. You don’t have to take my word for it. I shall present the facts from history and from the Koran itself.

The question arises, how is it that large churches and scholars are misinformed on this issue? Are there two Islams, one good and one bad? Who are we to consult for the correct answer? Can the Muslims tell us?  No, and here is why: In his book Muhammad, Prophet of Doom author and Islamic expert Craig Winn explains:

The vast preponderance of today’s Muslims do not know their prophet or their religion very well. Theirs is a life of ignorance, despair, tyranny, and mind-numbing ritual. They are kept in the dark, purposely deceived, for the benefit of cleric and king.

So if the Muslims can’t tell us, where do we turn?  Winn continues…

Despite what you’ve heard in the media, there is but one Islam, a singular correct view of Muhammad, Allah, and Jihad. It is the one printed in the Qur’an and Hadith. There is no independent record of Muhammad in history from which a variant view may be drawn. The Hadith and Qur’an are the sole repository of information on this man, his times, means, and mission. The Muhammad of Islam, the god of Islam, and the religion of Islam must be as these sources present them.

So what do the “holy scriptures” of Islam tell us about Muhammad and his God?  Here are the facts as documented in the Qur’an and the Hadith.

A Demonic Encounter

Muhammad was a troubled young man who as a child had often experienced bouts of either demonic oppression or epilepsy. As a young man he married Khadija, a business woman old enough to be his mother. Muhammad, like everyone else, worshipped a number of pagan idols. One of them was the moon God Allah, whom they believed inhabited the sacred Black Stone at Mecca. Muhammad liked to spend time alone, worshipping his pagan deities in the seclusion of dark caves. On one such occasion he became possessed by an evil spirit. He ran home trembling with fear, begging his wife to comfort him. He told her that a spirit had appeared to him and had nearly killed him. The spirit had taken hold of him and pressed him so hard he thought he would die. The spirit continually told him to “recite”. Muhammad kept saying he couldn’t because he was illiterate. This instance of demon possession occurred several times and as the months went by, Muhammad became so despondent over the demonic possession that he attempted, or at least contemplated, suicide.

Demonic possession has often been a means of profit. There is an account in the book of Acts of a demon being cast out of a girl and those who used her for fortune telling were angry with the apostles, for they had lost their means of income. All mediums have a “familiar spirit” that is nothing more than a demon giving them insight. Although Muhammad considered suicide, his wife had other plans. She was a business woman.  There was money to made in this. So she convinced Muhammad that this was not a demon, but was really an angel from God, that God had called Muhammad to be a prophet!

Prophesying For Profit

Muhammad bought into the idea. But how does an illiterate man start his own religion? Arabic as a written language was virtually non-existent then. The pagan prophets of the time were known as poets. They would formulate their “scripture” passages in prose and their followers would memorize it. Muhammad gained a small following of a band of men who memorized whatever Muhammad said was told him by the cave-dwelling spirit. At first Muhammad referred to his god as Ar-Rahman. This was one of many gods that were worshipped at the time. Of course to be really profitable it is best to have a monopoly. With so many gods around to worship, how does one compete?  Muhammad’s solution was to declare that his god Ar-Rahman, was the only true god. Later he switched allegiance to Allah, another one of the well known pagan gods of the time.  Allah was considered to be a “bigger” god than Ar-Rahman. Perhaps Muhammad, or his wife, felt this would be a more profitable god and easier to declare him as the one and only.

The second stage of what Islamic expert Craig Winn calls “The Profitable Prophet Plan” was for Muhammad to declare the two main doctrines of his one true god:

  1. You get to fight and kill others and keep the plunder and rape their women and keep them for sex slaves.
  2. If you get killed in battle fighting for Allah you go immediately to heaven and have sex orgies with gorgeous women for all eternity.

Soon Muhammad had a band of fifty warriors signed up for his terrorist crusade. Up to this time Arabs had been a peace-loving people living in relative tranquility. That was all about to change. The next move was to take control of the largest pagan shrine in the area. It was called the Ka’aba and it was located in Mecca. The Ka’aba was a primitive rock hut with 360 different rock idols in it. The Meccans were essentially rock worshippers. Each rock idol was merely a rough un-hewn stone. The Meccans believed that the spirit of each particular god would inhabit its respective stone. One of these stone idols was a large black stone called Allah. Many patrons would visit the Ka’aba and worship their god, leaving offerings and gifts. The custodians of the Ka’aba had a nice little business going. Muhammad desired it, so with the aid of his band of killers, he took it by force. Muhammad destroyed all the other rock gods, but kept Allah. The Ka’aba was open for business under new management! That is why, to this today, Muslims make pilgrimages to Mecca and why they must pray facing Mecca. That’s were Allah is. The black stone is still there, although according to Muhammad the stone wasn’t always black:

The Black Stone which was originally whiter than snow…turned black because it was fingered by menstruating women. (Tabari I:298)

I should warn the reader at this point, I will be quoting from the Qu’ran and other Islamic scriptures and they constitute some of the most convoluted, profane, vulgar and absurd statements to be found anywhere!

We have seen thus far that Muhammad and his wife formulated their religion for profit and formed a marauding band that either forced people to convert and join him in pillaging, or they killed them and raped their women. The pagan god Allah was elevated to be the supreme god for strictly business purposes. How else could one condemn every other religion unless you could claim yours was the only god? This gave Muhammad a pretext for pillaging; either they converted and followed his orders, or he killed them and raped their women, all by the order of Allah.

In order to add a semblance of credence to his “scriptures”, Muhammad borrowed stories from the Jews. There were Jews living in the area and Muhammad listened to them tell stories from the Bible and also Jewish myths from the Talmud. Muhammad couldn’t write any of these stories down, since he himself was illiterate, but he remembered enough of them to plagiarize them for his own use, and then later claim that the Bible was inaccurate and his rendition was correct. Many of Muhammad’s plagiarized stories were embellished beyond resemblance to anything ever heard of before. For example, Muhammad’s outlandish rendition of creation:

When Allah wanted to create the creation…he created the earth upon a big fish…the fish was in the water. The water was upon the back of a small rock. The rock was upon the back of an angel. The angel was on a big rock. The big rock was in the wind. The fish became agitated. As a result, the earth quaked, so Allah anchored the mountains and made it stable. This is why the Qur’an says Allah made for the earth ‘firmly anchored mountains, lest it shake you up.’ (Tabari 1:219)

Allah created Adam from sticky clay…from slime, being stinky…it became stinking slime…the Lord Almighty sent Satan to take some skin from the earth…and Allah created Adam from it. Allah caused Adam’s clay to ferment. He left it lying around for forty nights…Satan used to come to it and kick it with his foot, whereupon it made sounds. Then Satan entered Adam’s mouth and left from his posterior, and he entered his ass and left from his mouth. Then he said, “You are not something for making sounds. What then were you created for? If I am given authority over you, I shall ruin you.” (Tabari I:261)

And he (Allah) taught Adam all the names as follows: he taught him the name of everything, down to fart, and little fart. (Tabari I:267)

If Muhammad’s scripture is twisted and perverted, his life is even more so. Craig Winn recounts in his book that Muhammad:

…Used Qur’anic scripture to justify horrific behavior: Pedophilia, incest, rape, torture, assassinations, thievery, mass murder and terror – all in an unbridled orgy of sex, power, and money…When he was fifty, Muhammad married a six year old child. Then he stole his son’s wife. After forcing young girls to watch his men execute their fathers, Muhammad raped them. He tortured his victims to make sure no booty escaped his grasp. He committed mass murder, slaughtering Jews in genocidal rage. In ten years, he ordered a score of assassinations and conducted seventy-five terrorist raids. He used the sword to force Arabs into submission and used the slave trade to finance Islam. He was more interested in collecting girls and taxes than anything else. He ruled through fear. And his god condoned it all.

Let’s hear it now from Muhammad’s own mouth and from the writings of Islam. The following quotes are from the Islamic scriptures. Bear in mind that what they say is considered by Muslims to be God’s Word:

Verily they are disbelievers and infidels who say, “the Messiah, son of Mary, is God.” (Qur’an 5:17)

Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us.  (Tabari IX:69)

“Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them…” (Qur’an 9:5)

Do the bastards think that we are not their equal in fighting? We are men who think that there is no shame in killing. (Ishaq: 489)

By Muhammad’s order we were sent secretly by night. Brother killing brother. We lured him to his death with guile. We sought victory for the religion of the Prophet…we cast Ashraf’s head before his feet. The Prophet praised Allah that the poet had been assassinated and complimented us on the good work we had done in Allah’s cause. Our attack upon Allah’s enemy cast terror among the Jews, and there was no Jew in Medina who did not fear for his life. The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the prophet declared, ‘Kill any Jew who falls under your power.’ (Ishaq: 368,Tabari 7:97,)

…Just issue orders to kill every Jew in the country. (Bukari V1B1N6)

“You obey a stranger who encourages you to murder for booty. You are greedy men. Is there no honor among you?” Upon hearing those lines Muhammad said, “Will no one rid me of this woman?” Umayr, a zealous Muslim, decided to execute the prophet’s wishes. That very night he crept into the writer’s home while she lay sleeping surrounded by her young children. There was one at her breast. Umayr removed the suckling babe and then plunged his sword into the poet. The next morning in the Mosque, Muhammad, who was aware of the assassination, said, “You have helped Allah and his Apostle.” Umayr said, “She had five sons; should I feel guilty?” “No,” the prophet answered. “Killing her was as meaningless as two goats butting heads.” (Ishaq: 676)

The Prophet said, “…I decided to order a man to lead the prayer and then take a flame to burn all those who had not left their houses for the prayer, burning them alive inside their homes.” (Bukhari V1B11N626)

The Prophet said, “If a Muslim discards his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Bukhari V4B52N260)

Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends. (Qur’an 5:51)

Allah said, “A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of the world, its goods, and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.” (Ishaq 327)

The Jews are a nation of liars…the Jews are a treacherous, lying and evil people. (Ishaq:240)

The Messiah, Christ Jesus, the son of Mary was no more than a messenger…say not trinity. Cease and desist…for Allah is one Ilah (God). Far it is removed from him from having a son. (Qur’an 4:171)

Allah said, “Jesus, I will take you and raise you to myself and rid you of the infidels who have forged the lie that you are my son…those who are infidels will surely receive severe torment both in this world and the next.” (Qur’an 3:55)

If anyone disputes with you about Jesus being divine, flee them and pray that Allah will curse them.” (Qur’an 3:61)

Is Allah The God of Christians and Jews?

Now that we have some background on Islam we can proceed with answering the question as to whether The god of Islam is also the god of Christians.  There are four criteria for determining identity:

  1. Name
  2. Association
  3. Character
  4. Nature

If you think about it, this is how we “know” anybody. We not only know their name, but we know who they associate with, we know their personality, their character, their good points and bad points, what they like and dislike. Two people might have the same name, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are the same person. If they have different personal characteristics and different associations, then they are different persons. The nature of a person is also part of their identity — their race and nationality, male or female, large or small – this is all part of who they are.

Test 1: The Name

Now let us examine the case of these two gods and apply the same identity tests, beginning with the name. They may both be called God, but are they the same? Actually in this case they don’t even have the same name, for “God” is a title, not a name. The god of the Jews and Christians has a name: Yahweh. The god of Islam is named Allah. So the first similarity test fails. They do not even have the same name.

Now, it is argued that Allah is not a name, but a title. It has been claimed that Allah is merely the Arabic word for “God.” But this is not true.

According to Islamic scholar Montgomery Watt, one of the English translators of Tabari…

“The name [not word] Allah has throughout been [wrongly] translated as `God.’ It should be kept in mind, however, that in the pre-Islamic period it does not necessarily mean “God” in a monotheistic sense. It is known from the Qur’an (29:61 and 39:38) that many pre-Islamic Arabs believed in Allah as a god who was superior to the other gods whom they also recognized.”

And Islamic expert Wells confirms:

“Allah was a name, much like the Judeo-Christian “Yahweh.” But Muslims desperately needed the world to see it otherwise. For if Allah was a proper name — not a word — their religion was a fraud. The creator of the universe can’t be a pagan god, no matter how big a stick Muhammad swung. And Allah can’t be Yahweh any more than I can be George Washington. Arabic, like Hebrew before it, was derived from Aramaic. In Hebrew, “el,” was the word for god-lower case “g”-as in idols. Elohiym was used with the article to convey “God” with a capital “G.” In Arabic, “el” became “il.” Then, over time, Arabs derived a secondary word for god, “ilah.” With “al”, being the Arabic word for “the,” Muslims would have us believe that “Allah” is a contraction of “al” and “ilah.” But the first pillar of Islam contradicts this claim when it says: “There is no ilah but Allah.” If “Allah” were the Arabic wordforgod it would have been written: “There is no allah but Allah.” Moreover, the Qur’an itself uses “Ilah” when Allah claims to be “the God of Abraham” (Qur’an 2:132). And that ends the debate because the only way Muslims can claim Allah, not Ilah, is the Arabic word for “God” is for the Qur’an to be errant or for its author to be either ignorant or deceitful. Further, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Islamic traditions like the one we just reviewed that confirm that Allah was the name of a well-known pagan deity (at least in Mecca). Their own scriptures profess that Allah had an ignominious rule as a Meccan rock idol centuries before he was transformed from god to God, from an ilah to Allah. All of which serves to destroy the most essential Islamic myth: “We all worship the same God.”

To summarize, an identity test based on the name fails. The God of Christians has the name Yahweh. The god of Islam was first called Ar-Rahman, a well known pagan god. Later Muhammad decided Islam’s god was named Allah. Recorded history, current Muslim practice, and the Qur’an, show that the name Allah was the name of a rock idol in Mecca that was associated with a pagan moon god. Based upon the name, they are not the same god.   Now for the second test — The Test of Association.

Test 2: Association

The God of Christians is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God’s purpose was to reveal himself and his plan of salvation through Abraham’s descendants through Isaac. Isaac was Abraham’s “miracle” son. According to God’s promise, Abraham and Sarah had a son (Isaac) when Abraham was one hundred years old and Sarah was ninety, well past their child bearing years.  God promised that His blessings would come through Isaac’s descendants. Now about thirteen years before Isaac was born, at his wife’s urging Abraham slept with Sarah’s servant Hagar and she gave birth to Ishmael. This was a big mistake. It was not part of God’s plan. Later when God spoke to Abraham he made it clear that the covenant God was making with Abraham would NOT be fulfilled through Ishmael:

“And God said to Abraham, ‘As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her; I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.’ Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, ‘Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?’ And Abraham said to God, ‘O that Ishmael might live in thy sight!’ God said, ‘No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him and make him fruitful and multiply him exceedingly; he shall be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this season next year.'” (Genesis 17:15-21)

Thus all of God’s prophets have been descendents of Isaac. Scripture speaks of “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Never does it say, The God of Abraham, Ishmael…” God’s revelation was to come through Isaac’s descendents.

This is an important point because Muslims claim that the Arabs (and Muhammad) are descendents of Ishmael. So the first point to consider is that God promised no prophets through Ishmael. God’s covenant was through Isaac. The second point to consider is that there is absolutely no history, no writings, no records whatsoever to indicate that any knowledge of the God of Abraham came down to the Arabs from Abraham. It is all just conjecture. In fact, we know from the Qur’an and other writings that Muhammad had no knowledge of the God of Abraham from his family or ancestors. The Qur’an makes it clear that the Arabs of Muhammad’s time were pagan rock worshipers. It was only in order to try to give some semblance of authenticity to his wild stories that Muhammad tried to make the claim that he worshipped the God of Abraham. In fact he tries to make it look like the blessing and covenant was with Ishmael and not Isaac and that Isaac’s descendants got it all wrong and he got it right!

To summarize this point: The God of Christians is the God associated with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and all the prophets descended through Isaac. The God of Islam does not have any real association with even Abraham. It only has a pretended and disproved association with Abraham through Ishmael, whom scripture says was not part of the Abrahamic Covenant. The God of Islam is only associated with the pagan rock idol in Mecca of the moon god Allah. There is no written record connecting the Islamic god with Abraham at all. Consequently, based upon the test of association, Allah the god of Islam is not the same as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Test 3: Character

Now we must ask ourselves if the god of Islam has the same character as the God of Abraham and the Christians. We have already seen from the quotes from Islamic scripture that Allah is a god of hate. He is a god that relishes murder and mayhem, a god that approves of torture. Muhammad had many wives and raped many women of those he conquered. One of his wives was six years old. They had sex when she was nine years old. The account is heart rending:

My mother came to me while I was being swung on a swing between two branches and got me down. My nurse took over and wiped my face with some water and started leading me. When I was at the door she stopped so I could catch my breath. I was brought in while Muhammad was sitting on a bed in our house. My mother made me sit on his lap. The other men and women got up and left. The Prophet consummated his marriage with me in my house when I was nine years old. (Tubari 9:128)

All this was on approval of the god of Islam. According to Muhammad, Allah told him to have sex with this child. Muhammad quotes his god saying to him:

“She is yours, so uncover her.” I (Muhammad) would then say to myself, “If this is from Allah, then it must happen.” (Bukhari V9B86N98)

So Allah approves, even commands the molesting of children. In Islam, whatever Muhammad says, commands or approves is the same as Allah commanding or approving:

Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever obeys me obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah…” (Bukhari V9B89N251)

Muhammad’s god condones rape, pedophilia, murder, cold-blooded assassination of men, women and children, burning people alive for missing a prayer meeting, pillaging, enslavement and torture. The god of Islam orders that anyone who believes in Jesus’ divinity (Christians) to be tortured and killed. According to Allah, all Christians are going to burn in Hell. The god of Islam is anti-Semitic, desiring the annihilation of the Jews.  Allah’s revelations come through a demon possessed suicidal child-molesting murderous maniac. This is the god of Islam.

The God of Christianity tells us to love on another, to forgive one another, to love our enemies. A Muslim might argue that the Old Testament records many atrocities also, but there is a great difference. The Old Testament shows these events as man’s sinful doing and is often accompanied by such statements as, “The Lord was displeased by this wicked thing,” whereas in the Islamic scriptures horrendous atrocities are committed at the express command and approval of Allah or Allah’s Apostle, Muhammad.

The Bible tells us:

“God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one…” (James 1:13)

“God is light and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; 7but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5)

The god of Islam tempts people, indeed commands people, to sin, by committing murder, adultery, fornication, rape and torture. The God of Abraham, the God of Christians commands, “Thou shall not kill.” The God of Christians tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves. But the god of Islam commands to kill one’s neighbors. The God of Christianity is light and love. The God of Abraham sent angels in the sky saying “Do not fear,” and singing “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” The god of Islam revealed himself in the darkness of a cave, terrifying Muhammad, tormenting and hurting him to the point that he desired to end his life. The god of Islam is darkness from the pit of Hell. The God of Christianity is light from the glories of heaven.

Needless to say, by the test of character, Allah, the god of Islam is not the same god as the God of Christians.

Test 4: Nature

The God of Christianity is a triune God, consisting of the the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The god of Islam is not a trinity. The God of Christianity has a son. The god of Islam does not have a son.

Say not trinity. Cease and desist…for Allah is one Ilah (God). Far it is removed from him from having a son. (Qur’an 4:171)

Furthermore, the God of Christianity is intelligent and eloquent, as evidenced by his Word. This cannot be said of the god of Islam, who, when he speaks, tends to be stupid, vulgar and uses poor grammar:

It was a tree which made whoever ate from it defecate. But there must be no feces in paradise. (Tabari 1:279)

Adam went inside the tree to hide. Eve cut the tree and it bled. Then feather that covered Adam and Eve fell off. So Allah said, “Now Eve, as you caused the tree to bleed, you will bleed every new moon.” (Tabari 1:278)

A passage of scripture from the New Testament tells us something else about the nature of the god of Islam:

What do I imply then? That food sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons. 21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (1Co 10:19-22)

Remember that Allah is a pagan god associated with The Black Stone, an ancient rock idol in Mecca, which Muslims still pray towards and make pilgrimages to see and is venerated in the Qur’an. According to the Bible, prayer to this god is prayer to demons.

The God of Christianity has a triune nature and shows his loftiness, beauty, godliness and intelligence through his written word, the Bible. The god of Islam is not triune and shows his vulgarity, baseness and stupidity through the words of Islamic scripture, and is in fact, demonic in nature. Clearly, these two gods do not have the same nature.

We have applied all four tests: Name, Character, Association and Nature. We find that the comparison fails in each case.

The God Of Islam & Christianity Compared

NAME

Islam:              The God of Islam is named Allah.

Christianity:    The God of Abraham, which is the same as the God of Christianity, is named Yahweh. This name is given in contradistinction to all pagan idols.

ASSOCIATION

Islam:             Allah is associated with a pagan rock idol and has no provable association with Abraham.

Christianity:    The God of Christianity is associated with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the prophets descended from them.

CHARACTER

Islam:              The character of Allah is evil, encouraging murder, rape and torture, especially of Christians and Jews.

Christianity:    The character of the Christian God is good. He commands not to kill, to forgive, to love our enemies and be kind to others.

NATURE

Islam:              The nature of Allah is not a trinity. Allah does not have a son. Allah is darkness, demonic in nature.

Christianity:    The nature of the Christian God is that he is a trinity and has a son. He is light.

How more different can you be?  It is argued that the Muslims worship the same god, but merely have a distorted view of Him. I submit that they are different gods entirely, for they are as different as night and day, as different as light is from darkness. All false religion is inspired by Satan and his demons. If the god of Islam is anything more than the fruit of Muhammad’s perverted imagination, it is the father of lies, the Devil himself, who is the god of Islam.

Conclusion

This article is not written for Muslims, or for the purpose of ministering to Muslims. It is written for Christians who do not realize how lost Muslims are and how much they need the gospel. This is written for those who hold to the delusion that Muslims should “not be preached at.” Muslims are lost and enslaved to a horrible religion. Most of them don’t know what their own scriptures say. They only know what they are taught at the Mosque. Those that delve deeper into the Qur’an are likely to be seduced by the same evil spirit that seduced Muhammad, and like him, they may become a radical Islamic fundamentalist – a terrorist.

When witnessing to Muslims, do not begin by pointing out how bad their religion is. This will only antagonize them. Instead, show them the love of Jesus. Tell them Jesus is alive, that he is real to you, that he has changed your life and given you joy and peace. Give them a new testament to read. And be patient with them. Realize that if they accept Christ they will likely be disowned by their family. If they do not live in America they may be tortured and killed by other Muslims for accepting Christ, for Allah commands it.

The worst thing you can do is to assume that Muslims worship the same god as Christians and therefore don’t need salvation. God’s Word says:

No one who denies the Son has the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. (1 John 2:23)

“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)

Since Muslims deny the son, they do not have the Father. They do not have God, not the real God of the universe, not the God of Abraham and of the Christians. Neither do they have life. Without Christ they are lost.

I encourage the reader to read further. I recommend Muhammad: Prophet of Doom, by Craig Winn. This book contains most of the Qur’an and from its content it is easily seen that the quotes I have given are not out of context, but are rather the bulk of what Islam is about. I also recommend Inside Islam by Reza Safa, a former Radical Shiite Muslim now turned Christian. Also, The Costly Call by Emir Fethi Caner & H. Edware Pruitt. This book is a collection of accounts of Muslims who converted to Christianity and the amazing stories of persecution and torture they endured at the hands of Muslims after their conversion.
