The Flood of Noah

About 4,000 years ago, during the Flood of Noah, the entire earth was flooded with water. The huge amount of erosion formed vast layers of sediment under the worldwide ocean. As the continents were uplifted a year later, the waters rushed off the land masses into the deepening sea beds.

Some water became temporarily trapped inland in large seas, which eventually breached natural dams and rushed off in torrents of flood waters. The sedimentary rock layers were still soft enough for rapid erosion, resulting in the immediate creation of the Grand Canyon and colorful sandstone features such as are seen in Sedona, Arizona.

The dark reddish-brown Sedona limestone limestone formations contain fossils of clams, snails, fish, trilobites, and brachiopods and other creatures that perished in the flood. The distinctive redish-orange sandstone is the result of iron oxide (rust) in the sedimentary rock.

The image to the left shows the Sedona rock formations of Arizona. For those with eyes to see, they tell a story of God’s judgement and mercy and of a young earth of thousands, not millions of years old.These towering, spectacular formations are a monument to God’s justice, showing that He punishes sin, and also a reminder of God’s mercy, for He made a way of salvation for Noah and his family who were saved through the flood in the ark.

We are all descended from Noah and we likewise will be saved from the coming cataclysm, if we put our faith in Jesus. This is the truth Satan doesn’t want people to know and that is why the enemy of our soul has convinced unbelievers that there was no flood and all these features were formed millions upon millions of years ago. But that is all a lie.

2 Peter 3:3-7 says:

“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, ‘What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.’ They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.”
