The State of the World

Most people realize that the world is falling apart around us. Just this week a girl who imagined she was a boy shot up a Presbyterian school in Tennessee, killing six people, three of them nine-year-old children. The church and school that were attacked actively promote the LGBTQ agenda, ordain homosexual ministers and celebrate transgenderism. The transgender murderer was a former student of the school. Calling evil good and good evil – just like playing with rattlesnakes – is a dangerous activity. The police said the girl didn’t have any mental health problems. What? Say again? No mental health issues? She thought she was a boy and she murdered three children and three adults. But no mental health issues. Go figure. This is the crazy upside-down world we live in, where authorities can’t recognize insanity when it is staring them in the face.

In 2021 Biden chaotically abandoned Afghanistan in the most cowardly way, resulting in countless deaths and the rise of the brutally evil Taliban. Bad actors around the world were watching this shameful retreat and were emboldened. In 2022 Russia massed troops on the Ukrainian border to see what the U.S. would do. President Biden did nothing but bluster. Seeing Biden’s weakness, Putin invaded Ukraine. China is supplying arms to help Putin fight Ukraine. America is supplying arms to Ukraine. We are on the edge of World War III. Now in 2023, China is poised to invade Taiwan. Biden, still on China’s payroll, does nothing. Banks are failing in the United States. Iran is on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon, which they have vowed to use to “wipe Israel off the map.” Anti-Semitism is on the rise, as is Anti-Christianism. Riots, murders, and crime of all manner are increasing exponentially.

Elections in America are no longer secure but subject to all manner of cheating. America’s southern border has been dismantled and the prisons and mental asylums in South America are being emptied and the inmates shipped to the southern border of the United States to be brought into America by the drug cartels. China is manufacturing fentanyl and having the Mexican drug cartels bring it into the U.S. where it is killing Americans in unprecedented numbers. 110,000 people died from drug overdose in 2022. Most of those deaths were from fentanyl. That is about 300 Americans being murdered a day by a drug being manufactured in China and deliberately shipped to Mexico for import into the U.S. The DEA has seized enough doses of fentanyl in 2022 to kill every single person in America.

The China-made app Tic-Toc is programmed to serve up videos promoting science, education, and family to Chinese children, while at the same time distributing sexually suggestive trash to American children; garbage designed to destroy our society. China has paid millions of dollars in bribes to President Biden, while at the same time flying spy balloons over our military installations. Clearly, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is not our friend. What are they planning?

It is now known that Dr. Fauci of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency of the United States government, sent U.S. tax-payer money to the Wuhan Lab in China so that gain-of-function research could be done on bat corona viruses. The first person infected with the virus – a virus modified to be more deadly and contagious to humans – was a lab worker at the Wuhan bioweapons lab. President Obama had outlawed this sort of research as too dangerous, but Fauci did it anyway. This was once called a “conspiracy theory” but now the Congress of the United States confirms this is what happened.

After the virus accidentally escaped from the lab, China stopped all travel from Wuhan to the rest of China, but allowed international flights to leave Wuhan, carrying the virus around the world. Clearly, China is no friend of the world.

The resulting pandemic caused governments around the world to implement draconian restrictions upon people that were reminiscent of the type of totalitarian control only seen in the former Soviet Union and the Nazi Germany. The world has never been the same since. Totalitarianism in the name of “public safety” has become the norm worldwide. In a world where “make 1984 fiction again” is a popular bumper sticker, many people are asking, what is happening and where is the world headed?

What is happening?

That’s the real question, isn’t it? Why are all these things happening? Never before in history have the nations of the world wielded nuclear weapons of sufficient power to destroy the world many times over. Never before has sexual perversion become an accepted norm in civilized societies. Never before, not since the tower of Babel, has one-world government been considered to be something to move toward. These are unprecedented times and what does it mean?

Pundits have all sorts of answers, most of them wrong. The fact of the matter is that it is only Christians that see clearly what is going on. Why? Because what is happening was prophesied and written into the Bible long ago.

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

We are in the last days. There are specific things that are predicted by the Bible to happen with the nations of the world and with Israel in the last days. Christians know this and they see it coming. But only Christians who are filled with the Spirit and know their Bibles have a full picture of what is happening.

Many deny we are in the last days. Make no mistake: we are in the last days. There was a major upheaval of nations in the 1^st and 2^nd world wars that began setting the stage for the end of the age. The last few years, particularly since the pandemic and the stolen Biden election, have accelerated end-time events once again. The world scoffs at this idea, and this too was predicted in Scripture:

“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly…But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat…Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.”

This passage tells us of things that were to happen in the future. These things have happened. We are living in that future predicted by the Bible. The predictions were:

1. The world will scoff at the idea of Jesus returning. (They do. They say we are not in the last days. They say all these things have happened before. It means nothing.)
2. Mankind would deny the creation. (This has happened. They say it evolved.)
3. They deny the worldwide flood of Noah ever happened. (Man’s science knows nothing of this historical and geological fact)
4. The world will be surprised, as by a thief, when Christ returns and God’s terrible judgment falls. This is the one prediction that hasn’t happened yet, but will happen soon.

The Spirit of the World

In 1 Corinthians 2:12 we read:

“We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.”

Or, as it is written in another version:

“And God has actually given us his Spirit, not the world’s spirit.” (TLB)

So we see, the world has a spirit. In other words, the world has a particular point of view or attitude. This perception, attitude, spirit of the world is contrary to the Spirit of God.

1 John 2:15-17 says:

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

Satan is spoken of as head of this worldly spirit:

“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light…” (2 Corinthians 4:4)

The Bible frequently speaks of the world, or the spirit of the world, as an enemy of the Christian:

“keep oneself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27

Christian Worldview

This is why it is so important for a new believer to adopt a Christian world view and discard ideas that have been absorbed from the spirit of the world. Rather than having the spirit of the world, Christians are to have their minds enlightened by the Spirit of God. Christians who are led and enlightened by the Spirit of God are able to discern what is happening to the world, whereas unbelievers, who have the spirit of the world don’t have a clue. The following passage of Scripture clarifies this further:

But the man who isn’t a Christian can’t understand and can’t accept these thoughts from God, which the Holy Spirit teaches us. They sound foolish to him because only those who have the Holy Spirit within them can understand what the Holy Spirit means. Others just can’t take it in. But the spiritual man has insight into everything, and that bothers and baffles the man of the world, who can’t understand him at all. How could he? For certainly he has never been one to know the Lord’s thoughts, or to discuss them with him, or to move the hands of God by prayer. But, strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:12-16)

The Bible warns against pridefully holding onto worldly ideas that are counter to God’s wisdom:

Stop fooling yourselves. If you count yourself above average in intelligence, as judged by this world’s standards, you had better put this all aside and be a fool rather than let it hold you back from the true wisdom from above. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As it says in the book of Job, God uses man’s own brilliance to trap him; he stumbles over his own “wisdom” and falls.  And again, in the book of Psalms, we are told that the Lord knows full well how the human mind reasons and how foolish and futile it is.  So don’t be proud of following the wise men of this world…I am not writing about these things to make you ashamed, but to warn and counsel you as beloved children. (1 Corinthians 3:18-21; 4:14)

Leftism and the Spirit of the World

Now for a short treatise on left-wing versus right-wing politics in the world. Scripture says:

A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left.” (Ecclesiastes 10:2)

Of course this passage is only declaring that good men go one direction while evil go in the opposite. And by coincidence (or is it?), in the political world, those who tend toward evil call themselves leftists and they decry the policies of those on the right, or what they like to call “the far radical right.”

This is not to say that the political right is “Christian” or “godly,” for there are evil men on the right as well. It is nevertheless a fact, that true Christians, born-again Christians, tend to mostly have right-leaning perspectives while most people on the left tend to not believe that God has much to do with anything going on in the world, if they believe in Him at all.

Policies of the Left

Leftist policies tend to be anti-God, as we shall see. Below are the main ideals of the left. Not all leftists hold to all of them. Many leftists are ignorant as to the extent of the wickedness of the left, yet they often still support politicians that promote such wickedness.

Social justice: Leftists claim they generally advocate for equality and justice for marginalized and oppressed groups, such as people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and low-income communities.

The Reality: Leftists tend to whitewash or outright support the sin of homosexuality and transgenderism. They want young children indoctrinated with these perversions. These things are an abomination to God and those who align themselves with this are making themselves enemies of God.

Economic equality: Leftists claim to support policies that aim to reduce economic inequality and redistribute wealth more equitably, such as progressive taxation, strong labor protections, and social welfare programs.

The Reality: In other words, leftists tend to support socialism, which is a godless philosophy and a terrible evil that is nothing short of theft. It is government stealing, at gunpoint, from one person to give some of it to whoever they wish, while keeping some for themselves. Socialism has destroyed countries and caused genocide where ever it has been tried. Socialism causes poverty but makes the elite leaders rich and powerful, while the masses are deprived of their freedoms. While social programs can be beneficial, socialism tries to progressively take over more and more of a government once it gets it foot in the door.

Environmentalism: Leftists claim to be concerned with environmental issues and advocate for policies that prioritize environmental protection and sustainability.

The Reality: Leftists promote the religion of global warming. This cult is based upon a series of lies masquerading as science. Its purpose is to increase totalitarianism and socialism worldwide. It is a massive campaign for the redistribution of wealth, using fear as its main motivator.

Internationalism: Leftists often reject nationalism and prioritize international cooperation and solidarity with other countries and peoples.

The Reality: Globalism and one-world government is their goal. Elitist totalitarianism is the goal of the leftist World Economic Forum. One-world government is Satan’s goal as well and he will have it during the Great Tribulation. Nationalism is defined in the Bible as God’s plan for the nations.

Democracy: Leftists claim to believe in participatory democracy and seek to expand democratic rights and freedoms.

The Reality: Leftist claim to be pro-democracy, while in fact they tend toward socialism and fascist totalitarian government. The followers of leftism may actually think they are in favor of democracy, but they don’t understand what that actually is and they don’t know what their leaders are really up to. The 18-year-old rioter in the street believes he is fighting for “democracy.” But to him, that simply means getting certain things he or she wants and what their group wants (such as more abortion), while ignoring what the rest of the country may want.

Leftism is the Spirit of the World

Leftist ideology is not just a disease in America, but is a blight worldwide. In numerous countries the spirit of the world (which is leftism) has raised itself up against the knowledge of God. That is why most leftists believe in evolution, deny the flood, favor sexual perversions such as homosexuality and transgenderism, deny the return of Christ, and support socialism.

Leftists in Israel

Israel has been central to God’s plan throughout the ages. It is through Israel that Jesus Christ came, and when he did, he said, “Salvation is of the Jews.” Unfortunately, most of the Jewish nation, and primarily its religious leaders, rejected Christ. That is the reason they have suffered so much. But God is not done with them. He has gathered them back to his land as He promised in Scripture that He would. The Time of Jacob’s trouble is at hand. During that time, all of Israel will turn to Jesus. That is the promise of Scripture.

But until then, many of the Jews are blinded to the truth of who the Messiah is. While many Jews are turning to Christ, many have rejected Him. There is a spiritual battle going on in Israel, just as is happening all over the world. The spirit of the world is trying to pull the nations away from God, from truth, from righteousness, from democracy and towards mob rule. In other words, Leftists are a problem for Israel, just as they are for America.

Recently Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, along with his party, have moved (by legal means) to overhaul the badly corrupted Supreme Court of their nation and try to move the country further down the path of democracy. Leftists, on the other hand, are rioting and striking and creating unrest to get there way. Mob rule is the method of the left. We’ve seen it in America and now it is happening in Israel. If ever we needed to pray for Israel, it is now, for the most dangerous attacks don’t come from outside, but from within. They come from leftists within a country.

Here is the situation in Israel:

Problem One: The Supreme Court of Israel is constituted of judges and these judges are selected by existing judges of the Supreme Court. And of course, these judges will appoint only judges who agree with their political outlook. This has resulted in the Supreme Court of Israel being comprised of all leftists. This means the court will stay leftist and ostracize those on the right, indefinitely. The court is basically self-appointed in perpetuity. This is not democratic, as both sides of the political spectrum cannot be get a fair hearing.

Problem Two: The purpose of a Supreme Court is to see to it that all laws follow the Constitution. The constitution of Israel is called “The Basic Law.” But the Supreme Court in Israel is allowed to do away with any law the court does not like, regardless of what the Basic Law (or Constitution) says. As you can see, this is a big problem. This sets the Supreme Court up, not as an arbiter of the law, but as the law itself. It has become king, or worse than a king – a despot, a dictator. This is not democratic.

This is the actual case. But these facts are not broadcast to the world. If you do a Google search on this matter you get nothing but page after page of lies, saying that Netanyahu is trying to destroy democracy and that all the people of Israel are against him. That is a complete reversal of the truth. Why is this? Because Google, along with most news outlets, is controlled by the spirit of the world. Only Christian news outlets are broadcasting the truth on this matter.

Problems one and two (above) compound each other. Israel effectively has a leftist dictator (their Supreme Court) running things as it wishes, not as the people wish. For this reason, Netanyahu and his party have moved, within the law, to restructure the supreme court to be more democratic.

And that is where the unrest comes in. Leftists like it the way it is. Remember what leftists stand for in general: more abortion, more socialism, more sexual deviancy, less God, more secularism. Leftists don’t want this to go away. They want more, not less. So, since they have a leftist dictator in the Supreme Court, they don’t really want democracy. They want leftism. So, they do what leftists always do: They demonstrate, riot, make trouble and scream that their totalitarian way is really democracy and they cry that those on the right who want real democracy are fascists. They are calling good evil and evil good, just as leftists always do.

Remember, these leftists in Israel protesting against Netanyahu and his party, are not Christians. They have not accepted Christ. They do not know who their Messiah is. They do not have the spirit of God. They have the spirit of the world. But what do we see Christians around the world saying? They are supporting Netanyahu and understand that he is fighting for fairness and democracy. Why? Because Christians have the Spirit of God and their minds have been enlightened to see the truth.

Conclusion

Christians have the Spirit of God to show them the truth of what is going on in the world. Unbelievers have the spirit of the world. The god of this world, Satan, has blinded their eyes to what is really happening. They will remain blind until Jesus returns, when he will remove all Christians from the earth, and then God’s judgment will fall on those who are left behind. It will catch them unawares, as a thief in the night.

Leftist ideology is infected with the spirit of the world. Leftists tend to support evolution, socialism, homosexuality, transgenderism, big government, totalitarianism, fascism, one-world globalism, global warming hysteria, and mob rule. Above all, they decry those who are not leftists, calling them “far right-wing radicals and extremists.”

Israel is not exempt from leftist ideology. We need to pray for Israel’s leader, Netanyahu, that he will be aided to combat this terrible evil. And we must pray for America, that we re-elect Trump or some other leader on the right who will fight leftism, the spirit of the world, that is trying to take over the free nations.

Most of the news stations of the world are under the influence of the spirit of the world, also called the spirit of antichrist, or the mystery of lawlessness.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 tells us that “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.” Indeed, it is. Leftist ideology is against the laws and the knowledge of God. Leftism is lawlessness. And indeed, the mystery of lawlessness is at work. What are we to do? Here it is:

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
