We heard it during the Clinton presidency. When President Bill Clinton cheated on his wife with numerous women and his escapades came to light, the Democrats were quick to say, “It’s only about sex,” as though fidelity and integrity in the White House didn’t matter.

Today we are hearing it again, this time about homosexuality. We are told repeatedly, “What people do in their bedrooms doesn’t matter.” More and more people are believing that “sex is nothing” and that the definition of marriage can be whatever people want it to be.

But is all that true? The Christian Church has always maintained that sex is a big deal. It does matter, not just to the individuals involved, but also to the nation as a whole. In fact, The Bible says it is possible for rampant sexual sin to rot the core of a nation.

King David’s Sin

Let us consider what King David and Bathsheba did in the privacy of his bedroom. Did it affect anyone else? It most certainly did. It affected the entire nation. Because of that sin, God declared that the sword would never depart from David’s household. Consequently, David’s son, Absolon ousted David from the throne and David had to flee into the wilderness. Twenty-thousand people died in the battle that ensued as a result of Absalon’s attempted coup, which happened because of David’s adultery. Yes, David’s private sin in his bedroom affected the entire nation.

So, should we care what people do in “the privacy of their bedrooms?”  Absolutely. Am I advocating any action against those who engage in such sinful behavior? No. I am merely pointing out what the Bible says: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34). Thus, it is essential we have leaders that do not promote or encourage sinful behavior.

Sodom and Gomorrah

While the Bible declares that those who engage in homosexual acts are bound for hell (1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Timothy 1:10, Revelation 21:8, and Romans 1:18-32), the Bible also demonstrates that such sin can affect an entire city or nation.

God utterly destroyed the cites of Sodom and Gomorrah for their sins, chief of which was homosexuality. That is a historical fact. Those cites have been unearthed by archeologists, showing the evidence of utter destruction by fire. The Bible specifically states that these towns were destroyed because of the sin of homosexuality.

Proponents of homosexuality deny that sexual preference had anything to do with why those cities were destroyed. However, Scripture makes the reason clear. Jude 1:7 says, “Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them, which like them committed sexual sins and pursued homosexual activities…” (International Standard Version) The men of Sodom even wanted to rape the two (male) angels that came to Lot’s home.

So clearly, sexual sin can affect everyone in the community. It brings about God’s judgment. And when the president of the country bathes the Whitehouse in rainbow lights to celebrate “homosexual marriage,” you can bet that God’s judgment is not far off. So, when someone says, “It’s only about sex,” as though that doesn’t affect the country, know that they are dead wrong.

They Don’t Keep it in the Bedroom

The fact of the matter is that members of the LGBTQ community do not “keep it in their bedroom.” They are very actively proselytizing and grooming our children to accept their sinful lifestyle. They want to compel us to approve of their sin. And they want to seduce our children.

They want schools and the government to promote and celebrate their sin. They want to groom children into being open to being seduced into homosexual acts. They want to force us to acknowledge the legitimacy of their deviancy by punishing us if we don’t call men women and women men. They want boys in little girl’s restrooms, in spite of the rapes that have happened as a result. The Bible calls that lewdness.

Even our Pledge of Allegiance has been altered by the supposedly “private” sin of homosexuality. At the 2020 Democrat National Convention. “One nation under God” was intentionally removed from the Pledge of Allegiance in the LGBTQ Caucus meeting and the Muslim Delegates Assembly on the eighteenth of August. In the LGBTQ meeting, the speaker made a long pause after “one nation” to emphasize that they were deliberately leaving out “under God.”  Democrats said they thought that mentioning God was insensitive and may trigger homosexuals across the country.

Today we have homosexuals marching into churches and disrupting services by screaming obscenities. For example, in Costa Mesa, more than 75 militant gays, angered by the church’s biblical views on homosexuality, descended on a major Calvary Chapel church during Sunday services. It took 26 police officers from three precincts to control the raucous invasion that ended in three arrests. Even the government has been active against Christians. Under the Biden regime, The FBI has been infiltrating Catholic churches and spying on them.

So, let us not passively accept any more talk about “what they do in private is their business.” It is not in private. It is out in the public, in our schools, and in our face, with drag queen parades down main street in cities all across the nation.

The Truth About Homosexuality

A common myth is that homosexuals tend to engage in “lasting and loving relationships.” The fact is, that is the exception, not the rule. Most homosexuals are engaged in a wildly promiscuous disease-spreading lifestyle. The Bell and Weinberg study reported evidence of widespread sexual compulsion among homosexual men. Here are the stats from that study, pages 308-309:

“83% of the homosexual men surveyed estimated they had had sex with 50 or more partners in their lifetime, 43% estimated they had sex with 500 or more partners; 28% with 1,000 or more partners.”

“The survey showed 79% of the respondents say that over half of their sexual partners were strangers. Seventy percent said that over half of their sexual partners were people with whom they had sex only once.”

The report is an eye-opener and I encourage people to take a look at this report which delineates the disastrous effects of the homosexual lifestyle. Alcoholism, suicide, sexual compulsion and numerous other adverse effects impact the emotional and psychological health of those involved in this sinful lifestyle. The report can be seen at

The sodomy that homosexuals engage in spreads the incurable AIDS virus, as well as hepatitis A and B. It also leads to anal incontinence, anal cancer, and other maladies. One in five homosexuals is infected with the deadly HIV virus that leads to AIDS.[1] AIDS originated with homosexuals, and according to Human Life International, “85% of all new cases still occur in male homosexuals and bisexual men.”

Homosexuality and Christianity

As Christians we must make sure that we don’t buy into the lie that illicit sex doesn’t matter and doesn’t affect the nation. The Bible tells us that sex is sacred and is restricted to marriage, which is defined as a union before God between one man and one woman.

Scripture tells us that something spiritual and real happens when two people have sex – it binds them together as one, for Scripture declares: “Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, ‘The two will become one flesh.’” (1 Corinthians 6:16)

The holy, beautiful, mystical oneness of sex is intended by our creator to exist only in marriage between a man and a woman. Anything else adulterates and pollutes what was intended to be a blessed binding strength for marriage.

Marriage is the foundation of the family and families are the foundation of a country. You cannot adulterate the definition of marriage without destroying the country. Sex affects everything, as Scripture says, “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.” (1 Corinthians 6:18)
