I just had to turn off the TV. I could not stand to see Biden stand there and deceive the American people, once again. This time he was using the school shooting in Texas to attempt to do away with the 2^nd Amendment of the Constitution. For the occupier of the Oval Office to use this tragic event to try to elevate himself politically with the leftist base of his party is an insensitive insult to the parents of the deceased children.

In response to the shooting, Biden said, “When in God’s name, are we going to stand up to the gun lobby.” This statement, wherein Biden takes the Lord’s name in vain, is beyond insensitive. It is just plain thoughtless. I wasn’t aware that it was the gun lobby that stormed into a school to kill people, were you? This is a classic Bidenism that is right out of the Democratic Party play book – not letting any tragedy go to waste but to use it for their own selfish political ends. Just like when Biden stupidly said, “a vital part of preparing for hurricane season is to get vaccinated.” Whether it is leftist gun confiscation or forcing the jab on people who don’t need it, Biden’s political whims drive him to tactlessness and indifference to the suffering of the American people.

It’s Not Guns

The problem is not guns. I grew up in the 50s and 60s. We had guns then. Lots of them. Many schools even taught marksmanship and gun safety. School gun clubs were common in the 1950s. I remember being at the shooting range firing a .30-06 high powered rifle when I was eleven years old. It was much easier to get guns then too. Gun regulations were much more relaxed. The Rand Corporation did a study on gun ownership. In 1950, 45 percent of American families had a gun in their home. By 2016 that percentage had dropped to only 32 percent. 

Yet, we didn’t have mass shootings one after another back then. If guns, or a lack of gun laws, were the problem, we would have had more shootings back then than now. But that is not the case.  The fact is, such a thing was practically unheard of in those days. Why? Because the problem is not guns. We have always had them, but we have not always had mass shootings. Today we have fewer guns  than in the 1950s, but far more mass shootings.  Let that sink in. No, the problem is not guns. Rather, the problem is society. It is society that has changed.

Back then, we didn’t even lock our doors at night. My parents didn’t lock the car when they went in the store. It was even safe to hitchhike. I would take off on my bike and be gone all day on Saturdays, playing with friends or fishing at the lake. My parents didn’t worry about it because America was a safe country.

But not any more. Will abolishing guns make it safe again? If you abolished the 2^nd Amendment and made it illegal for anyone to have a gun, outlaws would be the only ones with guns. Home invasions by armed thugs would increase exponentially. We outlawed drugs. How did that work out?

Even if killers could not get guns, those bent on murder would use swords, knives, machetes, baseball bats, homemade bombs. Just imagine what mayhem an insane madman could create in a school with a chain saw. What would Biden say after taking away everyone’s guns and finding out that only made things worse? What would he recommend then? Banning knives and rocks? Perhaps he would say something else he thinks profound, like, “When in God’s name, are we going to stand up to the chain saw lobby!”

The liberals controlling our mindless leader want our guns for nefarious purposes. They don’t really want to stop shootings because these events give them an opportunity to advance their agenda. What they really want is to take guns away from all Americans so that the government can have total control over the citizens.

Socialist governments always deprive the citizens of their weapons early on. They have to or the people would throw off such communist leadership. Governments always want more power. It is the nature of the beast. Our founders knew that. That is why they set up so many checks and balances against the power of the government. The 2^nd Amendment was one of the checks against run-away government power.

What Has Changed?

Democrats say we just need to get rid of guns. Some Republicans say it is a mental health problem and we just need to throw more money at psychiatric programs. They are both wrong. Guns were prolific in American society long before we had this problem. And psychiatrists have the highest suicide rate of any profession. I doubt they are equipped to confront evil of this magnitude.

The problem is not too many guns or not enough psychiatrists. We don’t have a gun problem. We don’t have a mental health problem. We have a spiritual problem. The problem is evil. The problem is sin. The problem is a society that has turned its back on God and morality. Until our leaders have the wisdom and moral courage to say that, the problem will not begin to be fixed.

In 1937 over 70 % of Americans went to church. Even in the late 60s and early 70’s, it was still 68 %. But then it began to steadily drop and then it nose dived. Today, only 22 % of Americans attend church on Sundays. The Bible says, “Without guidance from God law and order disappear.” (Proverbs 29:18 CEV). And Proverbs 14:34 says, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” Jesus told the man he healed at the Bethesda Pool, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” (John 5:14) Until America realizes that sin leads to judgment, we will continue to suffer from our self-inflicted wounds.

An Example of Debauchery

A review of how one organization has changed, is a perfect example of what has happened to American society. When I was a boy, I was a Cub Scout, and then later a Boy Scout. I still remember the Scout Oath we memorized and recited at every meeting:

“On my honor, I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”

And the Scout Law:

“A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.”

In 1908, Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell wrote in the first Scout handbook that, “No man is much good unless he believes in God and obeys His laws.”

Those were not empty platitudes. Our Scout Master made sure that we always behaved reverently and honorably. If we camped out on a weekend, on Sunday morning he conducted a non-denominational church service in the forest for us. Atheists were not allowed to hold any leadership position in the Boy Scouts. Transgenders and homosexuals were not permitted to join. Parents would not have tolerated their children going on camp-outs with sexual perverts. Scouts was for boys who wanted to be reverent and morally straight.

Today, girls can join the Boy Scouts and go camping in the woods with boys. Atheists can be Scout leaders. Homosexuals and Transgenders can join. Since that change, several incidents of homosexual boys raping other boys have occurred on Boy Scout camping trips.  Condoms are now passed out to the Scouts at their global conventions. The Boy Scouts as an organization no longer cares about duty to God, being morally straight, or obeying God’s laws. Indeed, they flout them.

This sort of moral decay, which has destroyed the once fine institution of Scouting, has infected all of America. Even President Obama celebrated sodomy by bathing the White House in rainbow-colored lights when same-sex marriage was approved by the Supreme Court. Today, loud-mouthed, obnoxious women are marching for the right to murder their babies. Society has turned immoral. This is the problem.

When you promote sexual sin and promiscuity you destroy the family. Without two parents in the home, many kids don’t have normal development. When you show that life doesn’t matter by killing babies, ban prayer in the schools, and teach kids they are animals descended from a monkey’s uncle, this is what happens. When you tell children that they are animals, they will behave like animals. When you defund the police and let felons go free, they learn that there is no consequence to their actions.

Destruction of the Family

When the famous French commentator Alexis de Tocqueville traveled the U.S. in the mid-19th century, he wrote: “There is certainly no country in the world where the tie of marriage is more respected than in America, or where conjugal happiness is more highly or worthily appreciated.” Our society of nuclear families produced a prosperous middle class that was the envy of the world.

But not anymore. The shocking rate of illegitimate births is now 41 percent. It is even worse for the black community where 77.3 percent of babies are born out of wedlock, which has resulted in young blacks committing most of the crime in America. It is not because they are black, it is not because anyone is prejudiced. It is because they didn’t have a nuclear family with a mother and a father. Compare those stats to 1965, where only 3.1 percent of white births were illegitimate and 24 percent of blacks were illegitimate. When a child does not have both mother and father, the chances of them growing up to become a criminal is exponentially increased.

Note this picture of a family – with husband as a strong nurturing spiritual leader and a gentle, loving mother with children, happy in their own home. Liberals hate this. This is what the liberals want to do away with, and to a large extent they have. In the 1950’s a husband could support the entire family, buy a house, a new car, and send the kids to college, all on his salary. In today’s socialist leaning America, it takes both husband and wife working full-time in order to afford to rent an apartment and put food on the table. All the while the children are raised by daycare workers. Liberal policies have stolen the American dream.

The Democratic Party is hell-bent upon destroying the American family. Family values are conservative values and these ideals are hated by the liberals. The legalization of same-sex marriage is an assault upon the sanctity of marriage. Liberals celebrate sexual sins of all types, from promiscuous sex before marriage to homosexuality to transgenderism. It is their reckless attempt to skew the God-ordained sanctity of sex within marriage between a man and a woman. That’s why the Democrats didn’t mind that President Clinton was committing adultery in the Oval Office – literally. Remember what they said? “Oh, it’s only about sex. That doesn’t matter,” they told us. To them, sin is no big deal. When the sexual promiscuity results in a baby, the Democrats have a solution – abortion. In the liberal’s desired dystopian society, sex and babies don’t matter. Just do it, then kill it.

Hollywood has played their part. Movies, TV shows, and commercials depict fathers as useful, but unnecessary, bumbling idiots. Women are always portrayed as having it together in comparison to a husband. And more frequently it is portrayed that a woman does not need a man at all. She can have all the sex she wants and if she doesn’t murder her babies, the government will pay her monthly for each baby she has. But if she wants to kill it before its born, the government will pay for that too, with money stolen out of your pocket.

The feminists say they want liberation, but what they mean is, they want liberation from husband, family, responsibility, and care for children. They believe that taking care of small children is a demeaning occupation for an educated woman.

Why does the Democratic Party want to destroy the American family? Because they are socialists and the aim of socialism is the destruction of the family. The very core tenet of Marxism and its two versions called socialism and communism is to actually replace the family structure with government control. In the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), the children were taught that the state was their parent. The Black Lives Matter group, an avowed socialist organization, proclaims the following on their “What We Believe” page:

“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another.”

In the 1970s socialist subculture, it became popular to say that the “village” should raise children. Hillary Clinton, a dedicated socialist, wrote a book entitled It Takes a Village that promoted this idea. It sounds nice until you know what they mean by “village.” The “village” is a conglomeration of all sorts of government busybodies poking into your private life, such as public-school officials, psychologists, hired consultants, custody evaluators, child protective services, and family court judges. In short, the Democratic Party believes that children belong to the government, not you. Hitler had the same idea with his Hitler Youth program.

All of this socialist nonsense has caused a dramatic increase in government spending, for when mothers have no husband to support them or a father to give loving but firm guidance for the children, the single parent turns to Big Brother government and the children run wild. And that is as they wish it. The more dependent and chaotic a society becomes, the easier it is to bring in socialist government control, which makes politicians and bureaucrats richer and more powerful. And as we see, a socialist liberal government can’t fix anything. This destruction of the American family, engineered by the socialist Democratic Party, has put our country on a road to hell on earth.

How to Fix It

How do we stop mass shootings? If we had leaders who had some common sense and spiritual understanding the fix could be immediate. Here is how it is done:

1. Armed School Protection Program: The president should immediately sign an Executive order specifying that all schools receiving federal funding must immediately institute an armed protection program. Every school would be required to have a certain percentage of armed teachers. Teachers and staff can volunteer for the program that would enable them to carry a concealed sidearm.  No more teachers cowering in a corner waiting for themselves and the children in their care to be slaughtered. Let the teachers defend their classroom. Arm the teachers. Each local police department could provide regular and frequent training sessions for school staff enrolled in the program. Only those staff who demonstrate firearm proficiency and emotional stability for the task, would carry arms at school. Retired police officers and military personal can apply to volunteer to protect schools in exchange for tax breaks.Parents of children in the school should be allowed to apply to be trained to be a volunteer armed guard. In the Texas school shooting, the police did not attempt to confront the killer for over an hour. In the mean time children were being shot, bleeding out and dying. I guarantee that if a mom or dad was an armed school guard, they would not hesitate to put their life at risk to save their children.All federal funding for abortions, money to Iran, money given to enemy countries, money for illegal aliens, money for special interests – such as climate change groups – should be cut in order to provide financial assistance to fund this program. The liberals will howl. Let them. Save the children. The imaginary climate threat can wait.
2. Death Penalty for Mass Shooters: The president should sign an Executive order that encourages and recommends that all states adopt legislation requiring the death penalty for any person convicted of a mass killing. The order should recommend death by hanging for anyone who murders a child at school. Let anyone prone to killing children know they will dangle by the neck until dead if they do it.
3. Refund the Police: Stop the insane defunding of police. Do the opposite. Fund them like never before. Make wages so high for police officers that they have so many applicants that police departments can pick only the cream of the crop.
4. No Catch & Release: Across the country liberal Democrats have taken over local prosecutor offices and other positions. Criminals are being booked and released instead of incarcerated. They are learning that crime does pay. This only encourages more serious crimes. America needs to get involved in local elections and get the idiots voted out of office.
5. Secure the Border: The Hispanic kid who did this shooting lived with his grandmother. Why? Where are both his parents? Did his parents come here illegally? Is his father here or in Mexico? We don’t know yet. We have people of unknown backgrounds coming over our border by the millions. Yes, by the millions. Biden has turned control of our border over to the Mexican drug cartels. As a result, the cartels have become richer and more powerful than ever. Mexico is a country run by these cartels. It is a very dangerous place, especially for women, who are raped and murdered frequently. Mexican politicians are assassinated by the cartels if they don’t do as they are told. Do we want that here in America? Close the border, finish the wall and stop the flood of illegals. If we don’t, we will become a third-world country, just like Mexico.
6. Revival: The ultimate, long-term solution is for America to turn back to God. Until we do, we will not elect the leaders who will do steps one through five. A citizenry that doesn’t care about morality will not elect leaders with any kind of moral compass or common sense. Instead, they elect people like Biden – a man with cognitive difficulties, who stole an election, has taken bribes from Russia and China, weakened our military, advanced socialism, promoted abortion, promiscuity, and sodomy, and who lies about just about everything. Of course, politicians cannot order people to become holy. But our leaders should at least set an example of decency and morality. We have had the opposite, and that has brought about moral decay which has resulted in the rise of anarchy.
7. Restore the Family: The socialist Democrats must be stopped cold at the ballot box. Before we do that, we have to fix the election system which has been corrupted by fraud. Roe v Wade must be overturned and abortion outlawed. Same-sex marriage should be abolished. The Bible says, “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” (Hebrews 13:4)More tax breaks should be given to married couples. The government should encourage marriage, instead of using the welfare system to discourage it, as they do now. The cradle-to-grave welfare system for single parents needs to be curtailed. Yes, people who have problems still need help, but the government has created a situation where single parenthood has become an attractive and lucrative alternative. Single parenting should be an option of last resort, not a lifestyle. There should be an abundance of tax benefits and incentives for a nuclear family that supports itself. Many people live together without marrying simply because the welfare benefits are so much more abundant that way. This should not be so. The government should encourage and support marriage, not discourage it.The Democrats are eager to teach children about sex. Okay, let’s teach them this: No sex until you are married! Such teaching is vital to the preservation of the family, which is essential for the saving of America. Morality is essential for national security.

Goodness Begat Greatness

A world traveler who came to America in the 17th century made this profound observation:

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her fertile fields and boundless forests, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there.”

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her public-school system and her institutions of learning, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

Just as Israel faced destruction two-thousand years ago when they turned their backs on Jesus, so also America will eventually meet its demise if she does not return to the Lord. Jesus says to America what He said to the Church in Ephesus: “Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place — unless you repent.”

America gained her freedom and independence because of her dependence upon God and His Son Jesus Christ. America can lose those same blessings by declaring her independence from God. As it is written, “Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. (Proverbs 14:34).

May the Church once again preach repentance with urgency. Let there be preachers who come in the spirit and power of Elijah, who, like John the Baptist, courageously speak truth to power. Oh, that pastors everywhere would proclaim with the authority of God, “Homosexuality is sinful!” May the preacher quote the Apostle Paul to the socialist, “If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.” Let it be announced with indignation to the abortion doctor, “Thou shalt not kill,” and to the socialist, “Thou shalt not steal!” It is time – no, it is past time – for the pulpits of America to once again flame with righteousness.

America has been great because she was good. If we wish to be great again, we must endeavor – indeed we must strive with fervency – to once again embrace goodness with our whole heart.
