Evolution and Christianity — Two Roads That Cannot Meet

The conflict between evolution and Christianity is not a minor debate over how to interpret Genesis; it is a fundamental clash of worldviews. Christianity proclaims a God who created the world good, who is personally involved in His creation, and who sent His Son to redeem it. Evolution, on the other hand, teaches that life arose through countless accidents, mutations, and millions of years of suffering and death — with no need for divine intervention. These two systems cannot be reconciled without watering down the Bible until it loses all meaning.

Theistic Evolution: A Square Circle

Many Christians have attempted to bridge the gap by adopting theistic evolution, the belief that God used evolution as His tool for creation. But this is like trying to draw a square circle — it cannot be done. Evolution by definition is “unsupervised” and “impersonal,” while Christianity insists that God is actively involved in the world. To accept both is to deny either true science or true faith. As Charles Darwin himself admitted, he abandoned Christianity because he saw it as incompatible with evolution. The debate of Darwin vs Christianity still matters today, because the same compromise continues under new names.

Evolution and Christianity vs Creationism

Evolution vs creationism is not merely science versus religion. It is a question of truth itself. Creationism — and specifically young earth creationism — affirms the biblical account that God created the world good, that death entered through sin, and that Christ will one day restore creation. Evolution teaches the opposite: that death has always been here, that suffering is the engine of progress, and that man is nothing more than an animal. The Bible teaches otherwise: man is not just another creature, but is separate from the animals both spiritually and positionally. He was created in the image of God, set apart with dignity and eternal purpose, and given God-ordained dominion over the animal kingdom. Both views cannot be true; one must be false.

Evolution and Christianity vs the Bible

When Christians try to harmonize evolution and the Bible, the results are devastating. If Adam was not a real man, then Jesus — called “the Last Adam” — loses His historical foundation. If death existed before sin, then the Cross becomes meaningless. If the Flood never happened, then the New Testament warnings of coming judgment collapse. To deny the literal truth of Genesis is to erode the very gospel itself.

The Lie of Evolution and Godless Evolution

The Apostle Paul warned of “strong delusion” in the last days, and nowhere is that deception clearer than in the lie of evolution. Presented as “settled science,” evolution contradicts the laws of science themselves, denies the witness of creation, and undermines faith in God. True science is based on observation, yet evolution is not observable in the present and cannot be tested in the laboratory. It is not science but speculation. Worse still, it defies the law of biogenesis, which has been confirmed by countless experiments: life only comes from life. Evolution, by contrast, claims that life spontaneously arose from nonliving matter — an unscientific falsehood that has never been observed. In the end, godless evolution is not science at all — it is a philosophy that seeks to usurp the Creator’s place.
