KJV Onlyism
King James Onlyism claims the King James Bible is the only true Word of God — and that all other translations are corrupt or even satanic. While many Christians appreciate the KJV for its beauty and historic value, the idea that it is the one infallible Bible translation is not supported by Scripture or history.
King James Onlyism has caused division in churches, created confusion about God’s Word, and undermined the truth that salvation comes through Christ — not through allegiance to a particular translation. In reality, no translation is without flaw. The original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts are the inspired Word of God, and faithful translations exist today that accurately communicate the same message.
Why King James Onlyism is Unbiblical
KJV Onlyism is unbiblical because it places human tradition above God’s Word. It ignores the fact that language changes over time, that linguistic scholarship has greatly advanced since 1611, and that God’s truth has been faithfully translated into hundreds of languages — not just English. To insist that God preserved His Word only in one 17th-century English translation is to contradict both the Bible’s teaching and God’s heart for all nations.
